To Our Valued Patients,
We hope this letter finds you and your family in good health. We have been through a lot these past few weeks, and are looking forward to resuming our normal habits and routines. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your safety.
Infection control and your safety have always been a top priority for our practice, as you may have witnessed in the past. Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We make sure that our procedures are current and adhere to each agencies' recommendations.
You may see some changes when you come in for your next appointment. These changes will help to protect our patients and staff. For example:
· Our office will communicate with you beforehand to ask some screening questions. You will be asked those same questions again when you are in the office.
· We have hand sanitizer that we will ask you to use when you enter the office. You will also find some in the reception area and other places in the office for you to use as needed.
· You may see that our waiting room will no longer offer magazines, books, pamphlets and so forth, since those items are difficult to clean and disinfect.
· Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients.
· We will do our best to allow greater time between patients to reduce waiting times for you, as well as to reduce the number of patients in the reception area at any one time.
My next email will be to inform you of our projected Opening Date. We are still in the process of securing Personal Protection Equipment(PPE) for our team, which has been scarce, and updating protocol which need to be in place before our opening. Subsequent emails over the next few weeks will detail other steps we are taking to keep you, and every patient, safe in our practice.
Thank you for being our patient. I am still reachable at all times,at (916) 929-0248, should you have a concern or dental emergency . We value your trust and loyalty, and look forward to seeing you again.
Sincerely,
Dr Y

I pray all of you are safe and well and I will continue to be in touch weekly.

March 16, 2020
To Our Valued Patients,
I have decided to voluntarily suspend non-urgent treatment for our patients until Monday, March 30, 2020. This decision comes in the wake of an email from the California Dental Association (CDA), sent at 11:00pm on Sunday night:
"The California Dental Association strongly recommends that dentists practicing in California voluntarily suspend nonessential or non-urgent dental care for the next 14 days.
CDA does not make this request lightly, and it is being done out of an abundance of caution during this historic public health emergency. As health care professionals, we all have a role to play in "flattening the curve" in order to follow sound, scientific public health advice to help limit infections and slow the spread of the virus."
For the next 2 weeks we will be in the office, operating with a skeleton crew, answering phone calls and treating emergency patients as needed.
In our field, we are exposed to many pathogens, since we work in close proximity to our patients. Other than COVID-19, we are exposed to the common cold and flu, Hep A, Hep B, Hep C, H1N1, Ebola and HIV, to name a few. We would like to assure you that our Infection Control and Safety Protocols have ALWAYS been in accordance with, or have exceeded the standard practices . We will continue to maintain these standards, regardless of season or sickness, to protect our patients and our team.
I am privileged to call you our patient and consider you a part of our family. We remain committed not only to your oral health, but your overall health as well. Your safety and well being is of the highest importance to us.
We realize this decision will be a burden on our established patients and staff, and agree with the CDA's statement that it is in the best interest of public health. Thank you in advance for your understanding, we will keep you updated with changes as they arise.
With Warm Regards,
Dr. Yumiaco
